Instructions for a Speculative Synthesizer

Performance, Guest Projects, 2016.

I attach a slow oscillator’s sine wave output to another oscillators frequency control input, allowing the first to control the second, and it generates an inflected, uneven sound. You start to feel sick.

Sounds become inverted, combined, subtracted, simultaneous, disruptive, they begin to move relative to themselves and relative to our experience of them. They move in and out of each other. You’re ears are pulsing now.
